Sweet Berry Farm

On Saturday, Jenny and I took Jessica to the pumpkin patch at Sweet Berry Farm in Marble Falls. This was Jessi's first time to the farm. Jenny and I try to go every Spring to pick strawberries and in the summer for blackberries, but this was our first time for all the Fall fun.

Jessica explored the different pumpkins, created pumpkin art, looked at the goats and horses, created some sand art, enjoyed every bite of a homemade strawberry popscicle, and soaked in lots of sunshine and fresh air! We skipped the hayrides, kiddie maze, picking flowers, and stuffing yoru own scarecrow because of the crowd and what ended up being a hot day.

Jessi did not want to leave the farm. On our way back we had to stop at the Blue Bonnet Cafe for a light snack which, of course, included yummy pie!

We all had a great time.

Outside Fun

Jessi loves the outdoors. After all there is so much to do --- chase the dogs, look for birds, dance around, take a ride in the stroller, visit neighbors, or explore the garden. It was nice out Thursday evening, so out we went.

We then had a day of rain followed by cooler temperatures. Jessi loves her hoody jacket and kept it on most of Saturday. The cooler weather didn't stop us from a morning walk with Jen and the dogs. Yes, as you can tell from the photo, Ellee does sometimes catch a brief ride in the stroller.

It started raining again when we opened the door on Sunday. Since the weather didn't cooperate super dad pushed Jessi around the kitchen and living room in her stroller. She was so happy!

Happy Birthday Joey!

Today is Joey's birthday. We thought it was going to be a rainy weekend, but really only had rain on Saturday. Rain means plan a lot of indoor fun ---- bouncing on the bed, dancing, playing with puzzles, reading books, coloring, throwing toys at the dogs, and watching cartoons and football. Today we went out for Joey's birthday lunch. We tend to go out for lunch when we take Jessi with us because it seems like lunch crowds are more forgiving that dinner crowds when you have a toddler eating with you. Then later tonight we enjoyed homemade strawberry shortcakes for desert. Yummy! Jessi was so proud of helping her daddy blow out the candle on his cake.

Boy or Girl?

A friend of mine did this and I thought it was a cute idea. We find out what we are having (if the baby cooperates) on October 21. Any guesses on the sex of Baby Esquivel?

Illinois - September 2009

This trip to Illinois was for the Meyer Family Reunion. It was just my mom, Jessi, and I. After flying into Midway, we found our way to my Aunt & Uncle's house in Bartlett. My aunt had a roast in the oven for dinner -- Yum! Jessi took to Pat and Ed really quickly, but was a little hesitant about their dog because he was big. The next day, she liked him.

On Sunday, all of us and my cousin, Jessi, drove down to Sibley for the family reunion. It has been awhile since I have been to Sibley, but not much has changed. It is still a small little town surrounded by farms. We walked down to Lake Sibley and then past my grandma's old house. Jessi loved running around and had to try out the swings at the park. I have a lot of childhood memories of hanging out around the small lake and spending time at my grandma's house. My mom enjoyed catching up with her cousins and showing off pictures.

On Monday, Jessi got to play most of the day with the two girls that my Aunt watches. They played with the little toys, danced and had music time, colored and played with play dough, ran around outside (and inside), and just wore each other out. She had so much fun playing with them and relunctantly took a nap.

We woke up early this morning to go home and made it back into Austin before 1. It was sad to leave, but I think we were all ready to be home.

I need to give a HUGE thank you to the wonderful family that I have! My sister helped us board and unboard the plane in Austin. My cousin, Jessi, met us at Midway to help me get mom, Jessi, and all our stuff to the rental car. My Uncle Ed rode with us this morning to Midway to help get us and our stuff all checked in. My Aunt Pat is always very thoughtful and helped with my mom while we were there. I couldn't have managed traveling alone with my mom and Jessi without their help!

Jessica's Hair Salon

Another day of rain meant finding things inside to occupy Jessica. Jessica doesn't like having her hair done except by the ladies at daycare. So I thought I would show her how to sit still while someone did your hair and handed her the comb. She concentrated so hard on combing my hair and only took a break to eat lunch. Later she put clips in my hair, but I forgot to get a picture of that. I have to say that she didn't knot it up or pull too hard. I think I might let my favorite hair stylist, Jessica, do my hair again!

Bedtime Stories with Grandma

My mom is visiting for a couple days which means she gets to spend lots of time with her favorite little lady, Jessica. After dinner tonight, both changed into polka dot jammies and then Jessi sat in Grandma's (or Mama is what she says) lap and Jessi shared some of her favorite books. I have a feeling that there will be many more bedtime stories with Grandma.
